SMLIGHT - Zigbee & Thread Adapter with USB Passthrough

The SMLIGHT SLZB-U series includes powerful Zigbee and Thread adapters for operation over LAN, USB-C, or Wi-Fi. The devices are prepared for Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, and other smart home systems.

Depending on the variant, the adapter operates with a radio chip from Texas Instruments or Silicon Labs. The models SLZB-06U, SLZB-06P7U, SLZB-06P10U, and SLZB-06MU each function as Zigbee or Thread adapters; the desired mode is switched in the web interface. The SLZB-MR1U combines two radio chips and allows Zigbee and Thread/Matter to operate in parallel.

Power is supplied via PoE (Power over Ethernet) or USB-C. Thanks to optoelectronic isolation, Ethernet/PoE and USB-C can be connected simultaneously.

SMLIGHT - Features

Expandable Zigbee Capacity: Manage up to 150 devices per adapter. Using multiple adapters increases network capacity proportionally.

Secure Zigbee Network Expansion: LAN coordinators are more stable than pure Zigbee routers, as they are less prone to connection drops.

Location Independence: Thanks to LAN/Wi-Fi, the adapter can be optimally placed independently of the server.

Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, and Thread Support: Compatible with Home Assistant, OpenHAB, and other smart home systems.

New U Hardware: The ESP32-S3 with integrated USB host enables additional features and a modern, stable platform.

USB Passthrough over LAN: A compatible USB serial adapter, such as a Z-Wave stick, can be connected to the USB host and used over the network. Supported are, among others, CP210x, CH340/CH341, CH9102, and PL2303.

Compact Design: 160 × 24 × 28 mm – ideal for discreet mounting near the optimal Zigbee or Thread position.

SMLIGHT - Why optoelectronic isolation between Ethernet and USB?

Thanks to the isolation between USB-C and Ethernet, both interfaces can be used simultaneously. For example, the adapter can be directly connected to the server via USB-C and simultaneously integrated into the network via Ethernet or PoE.

SMLIGHT - Why a 5 dB antenna?

The included 5 dB antenna significantly improves the range of the Zigbee signal and ensures a more stable connection between your smart home devices.
